Domain terms
Version 2026-10-05. These apply to a domain you get through garlic.
Who holds the domain
garlic registers the domain in its own name, as the registrant of record. It does so through Namecheap, Inc., an ICANN-accredited registrar. garlic is not a registrar. You receive an exclusive, revocable licence to use the domain for your site while your domain plan is paid. The registration does not give you a property right in the name.
Taking it with you
After the first 60 days you can move the domain to your own registrar at any time. Ask in the studio. Within 5 days we remove the transfer lock and send you the authorization code, as long as the current domain year is paid. We never withhold the code over future, unpaid periods.
Your details and disclosure
You give us true contact details and keep them current. You consent to our disclosing them within 5 days to the registrar, ICANN, courts and dispute providers. You also consent to our disclosing them, within the same 5 days, to anyone who provides reasonable evidence of actionable harm.
What you promise
The name does not infringe anyone's rights and is not used for spam, phishing, malware or anything illegal. You indemnify garlic for claims arising from your use. You accept Namecheap's registration agreement and the UDRP/URS as they apply to the name.
Disputes
If a UDRP/URS complaint, court order or abuse report arrives, we forward it to you the same business day. While it is pending we may lock, suspend or redirect the domain. We comply with the decision. You bear the cost of any defence.
Renewal and non-payment
Your domain plan is billed yearly. Garlic requests renewal when your payment covers the next domain year.
If the charge fails, your site stays up for 14 days while we retry. After 14 days the domain shows an unavailable page. Your site remains at your garlic.lol address. We do not renew an unpaid domain at expiry.
Recovery after expiry depends on the registrar and the domain ending. During an available grace period, a paid domain year can support reactivation after we check the current registrar price. Redemption requires review with Namecheap Support and your approval of a separate recovery quote before extra spending. Paying an ordinary renewal invoice does not approve redemption fees. Recovery is not guaranteed. After release, someone else may register the name.
Cancelling your site plan
Cancelling the site plan does not cancel the domain plan. The domain stays registered until the end of its paid year. You can transfer it out or let it lapse.
Refunds and chargebacks
Registrations and renewals are fulfilled instantly at the registry and are non-refundable. If you no longer want the name, transfer it out instead. A payment dispute freezes site editing for 30 days. Your published site remains available.
Privacy, DNS and email
The public WHOIS shows the registrar's privacy service. Registrar and legal notices reach garlic and are forwarded to you. garlic manages the domain's DNS to serve your site and adds custom records on request. We do not provide email hosting.
If garlic stops offering domains
We give at least 60 days' notice and remove the transfer lock from every domain. We hand you the authorization code or change the registrant to you. We keep DNS live until the end of your paid year.
